Help me raise funds for resources and activities to support the patients of Ward 3A at Logan Hospital
Ward 3A is a General Medical ward that supports a large number of elderly patients, including many living with Dementia, confusion, cognitive decline, and other complex medical conditions. Patients admitted to the ward are often experiencing significant emotional distress, isolation, anxiety, or extended hospital stays, which can greatly impact their overall wellbeing and recovery.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide additional comfort, engagement, and emotional support resources that are not always readily available through standard hospital funding. Items raised through donations (and the upcoming hamper raffle) may include activity resources (puzzles, colouring books, cards, games, craft activities), comfort items (blankets, socks, pillows, comfort packs, soft items) , sensory and Dementia-friendly materials (fidget blankets, sensory toys, dementia activities, calming items), personal care products (brush, mini shampoo/conditioner etc), entertainment resources (Radio, TV, headphones, board games, simple activities), and other supportive items designed to improve the patient experience during their admission.
Many patients within Ward 3A have limited family support or spend long periods in hospital, meaning even small gestures and resources can have a significant impact on their comfort, dignity, and emotional wellbeing. These resources will also encourage social interaction, cognitive stimulation and positive distraction which benefits both the patients and the staff by creating a calmer and more supportive environment.
My goal as an Ambassador is to help ensure that not only our current patients, but every patient who comes through our doors, feels valued, cared for, and supported throughout their hospital journey. I wholeheartedly believe that without community support, this cannot be fully achieved.
